Istanbul has become a melting pot of both local and international cuisines. Turkish Cuisine is one the best in the world. Fresh fish is traditionally served at restaurants by the Bosphorus. Different range of food possibilities can easily be found.

Most ATM's accept international credit cards or bank cards. Besides banks, official exchange bureaus called “'Döviz Bürosu'' also offer a fast service and usually they do not charge commission and only change cash.

This is Istanbul… Here are wonderful shopping place to buy carpets, leather goods, gold bargains and fashion; Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı); a historical shopping place where you can shop wonderful merchandise, jewellery, leatherwear, and carpets. Egyptian Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı); a historical shopping place also where you can smell wonderful aroma of the place. Nişantaşı and Teşvikiye; you can shop world famous name brands Bağdat Caddesi; you can find elegant stores in this street
 

• TAX FREE

Visitors who do not reside in Turkey are able to reclaim VAT on goods purchased in Tax Free signed shops. Please look for Tax Free sticker placed on the windows of the shops.
 

• BUSINESS HOURS

Offices and Banks are open generally from 09:00 to 17:00 hours from Monday to Friday.

• ELECTRICITY

220 volt 50 cycles.
 

• CLIMATE

Istanbul's climate is generally mild. Average temperature in April is about 25°C.
 

• PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Public transportation options include the limited Metro (stations at Taksim - Osmanbey - Gayrettepe - Levent - 4 Levent), a large bus fleet, the light rail system departing from Sirkeci station in the historic Sultan Ahmet district, and numerous ferryboats that criss-cross the Bosphorus from the main terminals at Kadıköy, Eminönü, Karaköy and Beşiktaş. Also not to be missed is the historic tramway that shuttles up and down the pedestrian-only İstiklal Caddesi in Beyoğlu and the 19th century funicular subway, Tünel, located at the end of İstiklal Caddesi.
